Insights from exploring Values and Behaviors

Anders Fundin*), Director of Research at SIQ – the Swedish Institute for Quality.

The presentation explores how values and behaviors influence the creation of resilient and sustainable organizations. It highlights the role of organizational culture and leadership in driving employee engagement, health, and long-term performance, linking these to quality management principles. A case study from Sahlgrenska University Hospital illustrates how embedding values in daily practices strengthens resilience, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The research emphasizes the distinction between supportive behaviors (long-term, inclusive, sustainable) and hindering behaviors (short-term, reactive, resistant), offering a framework for cultural development that enhances both employee well-being and organizational outcomes.
