Fact-based decision making serves as The TQM core principle ensuring quality across all data management processes. It is driving the effective implementation of the TQM principles, e.g Leadership, Process Approach, Continuous Improvement, Employee Engagement and Sustainability.

Through systematic quality work, raw data is transformed into reliable, fact-based decision-making foundations. These foundations not only strengthen business strategies, optimize operational processes, and elevate the organization’s overall performance and sustainability, but also ensure accuracy in the growing world of digital transformation.

TQM PLUS (Link to article) is an updated model of Total Quality Management (TQM), where modern digital technologies like AI, machine learning and LLM:-s create new opportunities to apply and enhance the TQM principles. The model emphasizes fact-based decision-making and high data quality to optimize processes, enhance customer focus, and support sustainable business strategies.
With TQM PLUS, organizations can boost productivity, reduce costs, and foster innovation through reliable data and more efficient decision-making. Core TQM principles such as leadership, continuous improvement, and systems thinking gain greater impact, with a strong focus on sustainability and long-term business success. Modern digital technologies enables predictive maintenance, personalized customer experiences, and sustainable, fact base data-driven decisions.

Examples of discussion topics:

  1. How, in detail, can AI contribute to improve and strengthen the processes for Fact based decision making?
  2. What are the weaknesses with AI? When are human brains with knowledge and experiences needed?
  3. What are the most important steps to start a journey to assure high quality in all processes from raw data to real fact base decision making?
  4. What roles are needed in an organisation to achieve high quality fact based decision making?
  5. What tasks and role should improvement leaders have related to high quality fact based decision making?
  6. What competences are needed for our core target group, “Improvement leaders” to achieve high quality fact based decision making?
  7. Compliance to new EU laws and directives.
  8. How can AI be used for reporting, e.g. Sustainability reporting, including Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). It is Big Data and AI plays a key role in the development.

Nicole is Data Scientist Academy of Quality (IAQ), She is a global leader in quality – driven AI and digital transformation and is guiding AI strategy and authoring key Quality Digital transformation for IAQ.

Dr. Nicole Radziwill is an internationally recognized leader in digital transformation and next generation quality who has served on executive teams in SaaS, professional services, and national labs. She works at the intersection of data, analytics, quality, strategy, and emerging tech including AI. Currently Chief Data/AI Officer at Qzuku where she helps senior and executive teams manage AI implementation, risk, and impact, she is a former SVP and Chief Data Scientist and tenured Associate Professor of Data Science and Production Systems. Nicole is an Academician in the International Academy of Quality (IAQ) a Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and past Chair of the ASQ Software Division. She has a PhD in Quality Systems, and is the author of data science and statistics textbooks used in 30+ universities, as well as Connected, Intelligent, Automated: The Definitive Guide to Digital Transformation and Quality 4.0 (ASQ Quality Press, 2020) and Data, Strategy, Culture & Power (2024)

Before founding Kognic, Daniel gained experience delivering machine learning solutions at a global scale as Team Lead for Collection & Analysis and at Recorded Future. Daniel earned his M.Sc. in Engineering Mathematics at Chalmers University of Technology, where he served as President of the Student Union and a Member of the Board of Directors. A Norwegian national aged 51 years old, Dag Kroslid is the Chief Executive Officer of NorDan Gruppen AS (www.nordangruppen.no). The NorDan Group has revenues of 400 mEUR, with 32 sales offices and 12 factories across northern Europe. The company has 2,300 employees and entities in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the U.K., Ireland, Poland, Lithuania and China.

In December 2022, Mr. Kroslid became an academician of the International Academy for Quality. He is also a member of the board of the Swedish Institute for Quality (SIQ). In June 2023, he was honoured with the European Quality Leader award for 2022/2023 from the European Organisation for Quality.

He joined NorDan from a position as SVP Manufacturing at Norsafe AS (www.norsafe.com), where he was responsible for all the group’s factories and production activities in Norway, China, Brazil and Greece. From 2010-2011 Kroslid was a Senior Associate at Booz & Company (www.booz.com) in Stuttgart, Germany, where he was a part of the Operations practice and Manufacturing team.

Before that he was the Chief Operating Officer of Metallkraft International AS (www.metallkraft.no), with responsibility for operations in Norway, China and Singapore. Metallkraft serves wafer manufacturers in the Solar PV industry.  From 2004 to 2010 Kroslid was the Vice-President Manufacturing in the NorDan Group (www.nordan.no).

From 2001 to 2004 Kroslid held the position as Senior Manager with Ernst & Young in Norway. He worked on projects related to restructuring, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, supply chain management and operations management. He has acted as an advisor to a number of large European and Asian corporations, within both manufacturing (food, automotive, industrial goods, ship building) and services (finance and public sector).

From 1999-2000 he was Business Improvement Manager at Scana Steel Stavanger, a Norwegian steel company. Main projects included the implementation of a process oriented organization model followed by Lean Six Sigma projects.

Dag Kroslid holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University in Sweden. As part of  the PhD studies, international research on strategies and practices relating to performance excellence of leading enterprises was conducted in more than 20 countries. Dag Kroslid has been a visiting researcher at Seoul National University in South Korea and the University of St Gallen in Switzerland. On invitation from Chinese government organisations and universities, Kroslid has regularly given seminars in China. Dag Kroslid is co-author of “Six Sigma – The Pragmatic Approach” along with Kjell Magnusson and Bo Bergman, published in Chinese, English, German and Spanish.  He has also published books, articles and given speeches on 5S, Lean, Digitalization and Sustainability.

Ulf was born in 1972, lives in Malmö and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lund University. After completing his military officer’s degree, he served for a few years as a professional officer in the Lapland Ranger Regiment, after which a broad international career as a manager and leader followed. This includes 12 years at IKEA, in various global positions both in Sweden and abroad. Previous assignments also include managerial positions in the international telecom company Millicom/TIGO, which is listed on Nasdaq in New York and Stockholm. Since June 2020, Ulf has been secretary General of the European Organization for Quality, EOQ, which has its headquarters in Brussels. In addition to his role as Secretary General, he also has assignments as chairman of the board of, among other companies like Qvalify Group AB, deWiz AB, Gustavum AB and Mantex AB (listed on Nasdaq First North).
